![]() Arsenault Rivera's The Tiger's Daughter is an Asian-fantasy inspired adventure in which a katana-swinging sword-princess and her Mongol-ish best friend tool around and fight demons and fall in love. Along the way she romances a fellow outcast, who happens also be a princess with even MORE forbidden magic powers. It's a sci-fantasy sort of take in which a young street thief (who has stabby magic powers) gets shanghaied into infiltrating a weird society of outcasts on an enormous, monster-infested ship (that may be a spaceship? I haven't read the sequels). The first thing that comes to mind is Django Wexler's Ship of Smoke and Steel. Likewise, while not novels, there's a lot of super-gay cartoons out these days: Steven Universe, the She-Ra Reboot, etc. She might also check out the Legend of Korra graphic novels- they're set after the show, and delve into Korra & Asami's relationship a bit, in ways the cartoon couldn't do at the time. ![]() ![]() Oooh, beat me to the Kiyoshi recommendation. ![]()
